At Golden Voice English Online Education Inc. (GVEOE), we are breaking down the physical boundaries of the traditional ESL schools and bringing high quality English language education into the digital age. If you are a superstar English tutor and are not afraid of using technology, we want to hear from you!

As a GVE English Tutor, you will provide exceptional online English lessons to Chinese children via a video conferencing tool. You will be able to deliver unique, engaging and innovative e-Learning lessons using GVE-provided teaching materials, resources and techniques. This is a part-time, independent contractor role, working between the hours of 6:00 am to 10:00 am EDT (5:00 am to 9:00 am EST) Monday to Saturday.

How It Works

1. Once you are hired you will be given access to our Learning Management System (LMS). This is where we keep our collection of teaching resources.

2. You provide your availability on our Enterprise Management System (EMS). Students are assigned to you based on your schedule.

3. You will check the EMS daily to see if you are booked on the following day for NEW sessions. Regularly scheduled sessions will also be shown on the EMS.

4. You will receive payment after your sessions are complete on a monthly basis.

Tutor Requirements

Personal Requirements

  • - Native English speaker
  • - Committed availability, at least 9 hours weekly between 18:00 and 22:00 China Standard Time
  • - Qualified home office/location with an internet-connected computer with webcam capability (see hardware & software section below)
  • - Minimum six-month or equivalent combination of ESL/EFL teaching experience, including part-time, volunteer, community and coaching activities
  • - Strong communication skills interacting with ESL/EFL students
  • - Must be punctual at all times and follow the agreed-upon lesson schedule
  • - Passionate about language education
  • - College/University Diploma and/or Degree
  • - ESL Teaching Certificate (e.g. TESOL, TESL, TEFL)

Here is what you can expect throughout the hiring process:

  • 1. Fill out the online application form.
  • 2. Our skilled in-house recruiters will review your application.
  • 3. If you meet our requirements, you will be invited for a short online interview.
  • 4. Following the interview, you may be requested to complete a demo lesson.
  • 5. Successful candidates will be offered a contract for tutoring services.
  • 6. You will complete personnel forms and attend a live orientation session.
  • 7. You are ready to start tutoring with GVEOE!
